To Get lost in Corfu is maybe more fun rather than following strict plans….
It’s most probably the greenest Greek island, has amazing beaches with crystal waters, mountainous environment with amazing view, walking trails, many alternatives for activities, a combination of all the above, etc, etc, etc….
But there is one other characteristic not so well known, or at least not frequently mentioned or advertised (…) Corfu island has one of the lengthiest internal road network in the world (comparing to the land extend) with no dead end streets! It means you can drive unlimited kilometers without having to come back from the same street. No matter if you want to come back to the place you departed from or to get lost to the rest of the island…
Going somewhere in purpose, in a place you’ve found in “must to” guide, may impress you more than expected, will give you the opportunity to make another tick on your “what to do” list, maybe will less than your expectations, maybe…..
Exploring the unlimited kilometers of Corfu hinterland without special purpose, without expectations may me a waste of time but may be the less disappointing experience since you won’t expect something precise, something “must do” something less abstract….
And remember, since this is not a high traffic tourist guide, following this recommendation most probably will be alone or almost alone wherever you go far away from the most highly recommended to visit places
Get lost then! North Corfu has unlimited oportunities for this.
